Keeping on Our Toes

Their catalogue was in urgent need of removing design tropes from 20 years ago, and injecting real Brand character and coherent, contemporary design values.

Their new Marketing Director knew we had to revamp the 148-page A4 catalogue to create a completely new Brand and Brand positioning, in both design and Tone of Voice. She wanted the new catalogue to:

  • Really stand out from their competitors.
  • Be an effective marketing ambassador.
  • Be a vehicle for Brand positioning copy.
  • Also be beautifully designed, and a joy to use.

Sure Footing

We spent a significant amount of time discussing what content the products needed and what could be removed and left for the website to cover.

A key objective was to make the catalogue cleaner, sleeker and more contemporary. Our simple and flexible design elements and use of pastel colours enabled this, and also achieved the contemporary, light and airy feel asked for by our client – along with an organised look following a grid, but always with plenty of white space.

We also answered our client’s brief for a really attention-getting, funky front cover, to differentiate them from their competitors. We utilised the directed power of visual AI software in order to achieve this.

When the time came to completely revamp our 150-page product catalogue, I knew exactly who to call.

Establishing a clear vision of the catalogue was vital in creating a clean, clutter-free, well-organised and easy-to-use finished design. Our joint efforts certainly showed in the finished article, and in the salutary effect it had on DLT’s prospects and customers.
